In a two-story or ranch house, kitchens and baths from the original build may be due for replacement, and upstairs bedrooms can run warm. Kitchens and baths from the original build
An original kitchen may have laminate counters, oak cabinets and fluorescent lighting, and the baths fiberglass tubs and small vanities. A full remodel replaces cabinets, counters, lighting and plumbing fixtures, and usually reworks the layout a little for better flow. Baths get a membrane behind every wet surface and a fan that vents outside. We show the cost of keeping the layout against the cost of moving fixtures, so owners can see how much a new arrangement adds before they commit to it.
Upstairs comfort
Second-floor rooms collect heat under the roof. More attic insulation, sealed duct joints, a radiant barrier and windows with heat-reflecting glass all lower upstairs temperatures. Where the ducts are undersized for the upper floor, a separate zone or a small dedicated system can help, which we coordinate with a mechanical contractor. These items can be done alongside a remodel or alone, and each one is priced individually so the owner can choose where to start. Ceiling fans are added in bedrooms where wiring allows.
