Adding space on a standard lot
Where an El Segundo lot has room in back, a backyard unit or a converted garage may be possible, and state rules have made those easier to permit. A conversion needs a sound slab, enough ceiling height and new insulation, windows and utilities. A new unit needs a site plan, setbacks and utility routing worked out before design goes far. If an ADU would crowd the yard, a rear addition or a second story may suit the lot better, and we price those alongside.
