Hillside lots in the Hollywood Riviera often have decks hanging off the downhill side of the house. These need engineered footings on the slope, beams matched to how far they reach, and a ledger flashed into the wall. Salt air reaches these homes, so connectors and fasteners should be stainless or heavily coated. We inspect existing decks from below, test the framing and report what we find. Glass or cable guards keep the view open while meeting height and load rules. The finished deck is load checked and photographed.
