Hidden Hills Remodeling, Barns and Guest Houses
Hidden Hills remodeling: fire-safe exteriors, guest houses, barns, additions and large remodels, planned for the community's own review.
Hidden Hills is a small gated city where fire hazard zones are mapped, and its community association reviews exterior changes. On a ranch-style estate with a barn or a guest house, we plan large remodels, conversions and fire-safe upgrades, working with the association's committee and the city. Larger projects run in phases, each one priced and permitted on its own.
Guest houses and barns
A large lot may hold a guest house, a pool house or a barn alongside the main residence. Building a new guest house, or converting part of a barn into living space, brings setbacks, utilities, septic or sewer capacity and fire access into play. We look at each on the site visit and confirm what the city and the association allow before drawing. The new building is designed to match the ranch style of the property in roofline, siding and trim, and it meets the fire code from the first sketch.
Ranch style, fire-safe
Where white rail fences, wood siding and shake-style roofs set the look of an estate, some of those materials burn easily. We suggest alternatives that keep the style: fiber cement siding in a board profile, class A roofing that resembles shakes, metal or composite fencing near the house. Vents, gutters and eaves get ember-resistant upgrades. The association will want to see samples, and we bring them, priced as separate choices so the owners can weigh each change. Arenas and paddock fencing are outside our scope.
