North Hollywood Remodeling and Second Units
North Hollywood remodeling: ADUs, garage conversions, kitchens, baths, windows and stucco for houses and duplexes, with LADBS plans and permits.
In North Hollywood, permits are issued by the City of Los Angeles. On a deep lot, a second unit at the back may fit, and in the main house a better kitchen and bath may be the bigger win. We build both, and we handle the exterior repairs that older stucco and wood houses need after years under hard sun.
Deep lots and second units
A deep lot can leave room behind the main house for a detached ADU, and a duplex may take an added unit or a garage conversion. We check the setbacks, the utility routes from the street and the condition of anything being converted. Plans are drawn once the options are clear, and the permit goes through LADBS. Units get insulation and low-E windows that keep them livable in summer, and every stage, from plans to finishes, shows its own cost. Fencing between units is part of the plan.
Small kitchens and single baths
An older house may have a small kitchen and a single bath. A remodel can open the kitchen to the dining room, add a second bath where a hall closet was, or swap a tub for a low-curb shower. Opening walls means checking them for structure and old wiring first. Every wet wall gets a waterproof membrane before tile, and fans and range hoods vent outside. We price layout changes separately from finishes so owners can decide what is worth moving.
What we take on in North Hollywood
The shell of the house first, then everything else.
